We Accept Most Private Insurance Plans

Resurgence strives to keep our inpatient and intensive outpatient services affordable for people who need rehab treatment. We want to expand necessary access to health care for substance use disorder and other forms of mental illness.

In addition to reducing out-of-pocket costs, we also accept coverage from a wide range of private health care insurance providers. We take most insurance coverage under preferred provider organization plans.

Does United Healthcare Cover Rehab for Substance Use Disorder?

United Healthcare recognizes the rise in substance use disorders among adults and is committed to providing coverage for addiction treatment. Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance companies must cover mental health conditions, including substance use disorders. However, the extent of the coverage depends on various factors, including your policy, location, and whether the drug rehab centers are in-network providers.

How UnitedHealthcare Coverage Can Help You

UnitedHealthcare plans cover many services to help plan members stay as healthy as possible. These services include:

  • Inpatient and outpatient care

  • Prescription drugs

  • Mental health services

  • Dental care

  • Vision care

  • Life insurance

To be covered by UnitedHealthcare, a service must be considered “medically necessary.” This means that a licensed physician or other medical professional has determined that the service is needed to prevent, diagnose, or treat an illness or injury.

Co-Pays, Coinsurance, and Deductibles

UnitedHealthcare plans typically have co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles. These are the amounts that you are responsible for paying for covered services.

  • Co-pays are fixed amounts of money you pay each time you receive a specific service. For example, you may have a $20 co-pay for doctor visits and a $5 co-pay for prescriptions.

  • Coinsurance is a percentage of the costs incurred for a service. For example, you may have a 20% coinsurance for inpatient care. This means that you would pay 20% of the cost of your stay, and your insurance provider would pay the remaining 80%.

  • Deductibles are the amount you must pay for covered services each year before your insurance starts to cover any costs. For example, you may have a $1,000 deductible for medical services. This means you would be responsible for paying the first $1,000 of your medical costs yearly before your insurance starts covering any costs.

Out-of-Pocket Maximum

In addition to co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles, you may also have an out-of-pocket maximum. This is the maximum amount you have to pay for covered services each year. Once you meet your out-of-pocket maximum, your insurance provider covers 100% of the cost of each covered service.

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network Providers

When selecting a drug or alcohol rehab center, it’s essential to determine whether the facility is an in-network provider. In-network providers have agreements with United Healthcare, which typically means lower out-of-pocket costs and more savings. However, United Healthcare also offers coverage for out-of-network providers, though this may involve higher costs.

Providers we Accept

Most major insurance plans cover inpatient and outpatient services at addiction treatment facilities. In fact, the federal Affordable Care Act requires insurance coverage providers to pay for drug and alcohol rehab as essential health benefits, whether you have a PPO or an HMO plan.

Different health plans typically have different levels of drug addiction coverage, so we can help you navigate your insurance policy and find the outpatient or residential treatment plan that best fits your needs while reducing your out-of-pocket expenses as much as possible.

We are in-network with the following providers: Aetna, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Molina Healthcare of California

We also accept most plans from major providers including Beacon Healthcare Systems, Cigna, Kaiser Permanente, Optum, PHCS, UMR, and United Healthcare
